Diagnostic and therapeutic acts performed on children often involve severe pain and anxiety. Proper treatment of these aspects constitutes an important element in the quality of care. One of the main tools to achieve this goal is the use of sedation.

 

The Ministry of Health has allowed physicians who are not Anesthetists to perform  this procedure if they have received appropriate training.

 

A course in sedation is conducted in Simultech for two whole days intended for medical staff (doctors and nurses administering sedation to children).

 

The course integrates frontal lectures, discussions in small groups, practical workshops and advanced simulation exercises and provides the trainees with theoretical and practical tools to administer sedation safely and effectively.
